This right here, “the 147-pound division is certainly short on stars, even potential ones, and therefore Crawford, at 36, couldn’t afford to waste time in a division”.

So Crawford left a division short of stars to go fight the biggest superstar at 154 who was 10-0 AND nobody in the US had heard until he got the Crawford fight.

Also, “potential” stars are lacking because Boots is unknown. What a turd of a writer but as we know, the pen is mightier than the sword so this article is just to create a barrage of word battles on the comment section.

Honestly, after last weekend, I think Crawford is all wrong for him! I think he should go after Spence in Dallas! If Spence is willing to come back straight to Fundora without a tune-up, why not Vergil? Vergil should stay away from Bud & Boots! Spence or Tszyu!

He should move up to light middleweight. He's a big welterweight and probably doesn't make the weight easily.

What about him and Conor Benn, haven't heard anything lately.

Have read anywhere that Boots doesn’t make weight easily? Boots has said multiple times that making 147 is easy for him.
Crawford was at WW from 2018 to 2023. That’s 6 years, he stayed and unified. Why should Boots move to 154 when he has an opportunity to unify as well?

After Bud beat Jeff Horn, he stayed at 147 and fought Khan, Brook, Avanesyan, Benavidez, Kavaliauskas. Was that weak of him? Why didn’t he move to 154 right after beating Horn?

Bud is considered an ATG because he unified 147 and now he’s beating nondescript guys at 154 AND will once again unify the division. Why not move to 160 and challenge those guys?

Boots wants to unify the 147 division just like Bud.
It will give him leverage and raise his stocks just like it did for Bud.
Why are you holding Boots on different standards?

No, make it happen. That's the p_ssie mentality. He needs to go for the dogs already. Turki wants it, DLH, Vergil want, everyone except Crawford. Vergil is the WBA mandatory, who else is Crawford going to fight?

At the time 147 had all the talent 154 was a joke. Brook Porter and Spence were all top talents despite their mileage(meaning Porter and Brook) with Porter retiring right after and Brook coming out of retirement to take the fight but they were still good. Spence was
a p4p guy. Boots doesn’t have 3 opponents at 147 that can offer that legitimacy. All the talent is at 154 now including bud and Spence and even his same age contemporary rival Ortiz is at 154. Unifying 147 even becoming undisputed at 147 now is not that prestigious as in the past. 154 is the deep end now boots is 26 if he trying to wait 3-4 years to jump in with the guys that are vying for the top now that’s just weak. The time is now for boots ennis and Vergil Ortiz. If they can’t do it now then they’re not the best. No shame in that but there is shame in not taking the shot imo

Yup I’ll agree with your dumbass on this. The time is now for these young guns cause they’re not really “young” anymore. If Ortiz can’t beat him now then he’ll never be able too
