Good post. I'm a Hurd fan, have been for a while. The Wellborn fight was where I saw the red.flags as well. Even though he won by stoppage, the success a limited Wellborn had against him was worrying.

For those who followed Hurd early in his career, he was initially a guy who fought more off the jab and used distance. It was around the Harrison fight where he changed things and became a pressure fighter.

Against Rosario, he looked like he was trying to find his old style but he was unable to incorporate other aspects of his game (inside fighting, combinations, etc). It I'm being honest, I thought both guys looked pretty shopworn and I'm not sure how much either has in the tank even as gatekeepers.

Even against Lara even tho he managed to overpower lara in that fight and use his size to get him a close decision there was still times he was being outboxed for quite a few rounds. It's why I always thought if he'd of fought Charlo back when he was unified champion he'd of got stopped. Because he's way to hittable and Charlo would of been to sharp for him. But yeah him and Rosario both looked like they was both done in terms of getting back in any kind of title mix.. they could stick around and fight upcoming guys being both former unified champions there good names to have on a record so they'll get pay days. But that's up to them but personally I'd call it a day
