This should be a great rematch. Espinoza surprised most everyone last time. Although he showed a lot of heart, I think he beat Robeisy mostly on stamina. Ramirez simply ran out of gas at the end, in a heated contest. If both these guys show up at 100%, it’s anybody’s fight. Looking forward to it.

I predict Ramirez goes to the body from round 1 this time. He was headhunting the entire first fight and it almost worked, Espinoza has no quit in him and Ramirez overlooked him big time.

Espinoza never had Robeisy hurt badly, the knee at the end was exhaustion and the relentless punches from Espinoza. Ramirez goes to the body non stop in this fight and stop Espinoza IMO.

Rose' has got friends ............. there are many fights that called or rematch and did not happen but his one bc they want Rose' back on top there has got to be a rematch. Espi may have wanted to make him wait it is done in boxing but now we will have to watch Espi knock him around even harder this time, unless they make sure the ref's get the word in advance to lean on Rose' side of the ring.

I hate rematches. Most of them occur when the favorite is upset so it just seems like they run it back until the favorite wins.

This happens to a lot of other people, not just Cubans. If you come from a country where discipline is mandated and enforced by an external authority boxers are doing well while they are in that environment. Unfortunately, once they leave that environment / country and they go to the western world where you are free to do as you please, unless you are extremely driven and have your own internal discipline, the wheels start falling off slowly but surely. Too much money, too many temptations and only a few guys with an iron will survive and do well in the long term, no matter how talented they are.

The best thing that a Cuban fighter can do when coming to the U.S. is to get as far away from Miami and South Florida as possible. Morrell was smart to go to Minnesota ,and to learn English.

Really good post by the way.

I don't think Robes is going for the body, not like that. That is like hooking with a hooker. He needs to turn him, surround him. Tall men have angle issues.

True! Has happened with Andy Ruiz, Mauricio Lara, The Charlo's, Spence, etc.
In a way that is why I pass on some of the hate Canelo gets. Yes, he seems to be cherry picking as of late but with all the money he's made over his career and his business, he is still fighting consistently 2x per year and has always been disciplined with his trainig and weight.
                  Respect!

I am surprised that the minimum purse bid amount is so low for two fighters as good as these two guys. This fight is a real treat for boxing fans. It's ridiculous how much more money even mediocre heavyweights make than excellent little fighters. Do heavyweights really draw that much more fans to an event ? Or is it just one of those old ideas that refuses to die ? Personally , I couldn't care less if it's Heavyweights or Straweights , a good fight is a good fight. I don't know if the KO percentage in the Heavies is a lot higher than other weights , or if it's just the perception , but I do know that the little guys KO plenty of people too , and usually have more exciting active fights than the heavies.

So the guy that was saved by the bell is the one knocking the other one around? So you said.
