12 years ago, in a similar situation, Garcia stopped Khan... also a slick boxer.
Lara is a tough opponent to look good against... and, as most fighters discover...
Danny just couldn't solve the Lara puzzle... simple as that.

This fight is a disappointment made even harder to take knowing that it took the better position on the card and attention away from the much more entertaining fight that preceded it (Plant-McCumby).

I don't know if this was a shameless money grab by Garcia, but it's a money grab.

Lara won every round. Some rounds Garcia didn't even land a single punch.

Can't forget what I didn't watch lol. I slept through the event because it wasn't even worth pirating. Hopefully, Lara and Garcia BOTH retire.

It’s official. Danny Garcia is now a gatekeeper status. He’s done and washed up as a prizefighter.

The man looked totally old, shot and gunshy against a diminished 41 year old Erislandy Lara.

Erislandy didn’t knock him out. Swift just refused to try. He simply laid down and quit. He was a broken fighter.

I am not surprised though because the fight went exactly like I said It would.

I said that Danny was underestimating Lara due to his advanced age and alleged diminishing skills.

Moreover, I said that Lara was going to walk him down as Garcia would refuse to take risks by fighting off the back foot.

Now we can see why Danny avoided and never defeated anyone good in their primes outside of Khan and Matthysee.

He was simply never that good. He was very average and overrated at best.

Danny has no adjustments in him whatsoever. Within the first 60 seconds you just knew how the fight was gonna play out for his entirety. Garcia just dont have it in him anymore the hunger has long gone.. the fact this was even a middleweight title fight in the first place just shows how the division is in dire straights right now.

I think the Matthyse win was better. Danny was always an overachiever who did a lot with limited tools. This matchup with Lara was disgraceful on multiple levels.
