He won the title and then the WBC promised him a shot at the silly bridgerweight title, so he was declared champion-in-recess which ordinarily would just grant him the right to challenge for the title if he returned to cruiserweight. But the WBC failed to deliver their bridgerweight title shot, and then Mikaeljian failed to make a defense, so they just reinstated Jack as champion instead of making him fight Rozicki for the vacant belt as a "sorry we screwed you over" for the bridgerweight nonsense.

What a clusterphuck but whatever, hopefully Jack still has some ability left, a year out is long for an older fighter.

That is it in a nutshell. Rozicki is from my hometown and he is pretty basic...but he might be all wrong for an older jack. I wouldn't be surprised if there is an injury in training on the jack side. I don't think he has the legs or the power to keep rozicki off him, and that will not go well for a 40 whatever year old. Fight doesn't really matter...unifaction will fail either way with either fighter as champ.

Still ridiculous, don't you think ? His last fight was a year ago, against a 36 yrs old Makabu... So again, only in boxing!
