One of the very few fighters who was at his best after his mid 30s. Who else could be on that list? Walcott? Maybe H-Hop?

Anyone who started late and was motivated late in their career. Someone should make a list

He actually weathered the storms pretty good even when he did fight rocky. Marciano missed well over 100 punches, Moore just wasn’t strong enough to hold him off.

indeed maybe a 35 year old Archie, with a bit more speed probably would have been able to land some better shots in retaliation.

any fast light heavyweight with a great skillset I believe will give trouble to Marciano - who’s only real struggle is getting close to you.

I've often wondered how Harold Johnson would have fared with Rocky?
Walcott ko'd Harold, but he was a sharp shooter, ever Rocky's most rabid fans would not have described him that way!

In my opinion Harold isn't slick enough and get's knocked out. I also think Moore can't fight well enough on the backfoot, he's got 130+ KOs for a reason, but it's not something useful in a fighter with Marciano.

If you want ill make a list soon of who I think has the chance to beat Marciano.

            Prime charles
            Tommy Loughran
            Harry Greb
            Prime Gene Tunney
            Sam Langford

            to start

            I personally think they need:

            15 round stamina
            high defensive capability
            fast hands
inside fighting capability, if they turtle inside it won't work
willing to not pursue a knockout
respect his power and use high ring IQ
and of course considerable heart to get the job done

feel free to add to the list, I am sure their are others

              - - Intelligence besides physical gifts was the thing that put Arch over the top in a vicious scum producing boxing background of boxing.

Loughran did not have enough pop in his punches to keep Rocky off him.

I figured he might run to a decision but yeah he likely won’t make it - just wanted to make the list bigger out of respect cause I know you don’t rate him like I do.

Rocky is about no 12/13 on my ATG heavyweight list. I am heavily influenced by H2H.

I don't think you fight Rocky on the back foot , Jack Hurley had a theory that you engage him on the inside where you won't be caught by his long swinging punches, that's what he instructed Mathews to do,and it worked ,for one round, then Mathews stepped back in the 2nd rd ,giving Rocky the space and leverage he wanted and he landed that terrific left hook. Tunney has a 45/55chance against Marciano ,imo.
                      Langford 50/50
                      Dempsey60/40
                      Louis 60/40

                      Bowe 60/40

                      Liston 70/30
                      Foreman 70/30
                      Tyson 70/30
                      Fury 70/30
                      Usyk 60/40
                      Johnson 60/40
