Would Henry Armstrong went after the Lightheavyweight title

If he would of got the win over garcia for the middleweight title?

Armstrong was small even for a welterweight, he never came in even at the 147 limit. He would have lost badly at LHW. Garcia wasn't even the real middleweight champion anyway, it was all just promotional hype.

Garcia-Armstrong was only scheduled for 10 rounds, which is very rare for a title bout in any era.

Going from 160-175 is a huge jump. I don't know off hand who was the LH champion back then, but I doubt that I'd pick Amstrong to beat him.

Yeah Billy Conn was LHW champ back in 1940 when Armstrong fought Garcia, an extremely tough order, even for Armstrong, who was basically a FW/LW. And had Hank gotten the win over Garcia, it's hard to see him beating Tony Zale, who would go on to hold the MW title for the next 7 years.

Zale would destroy Armstrong, talk about an unfair fight

Henry would have gotten murdered by Conn in less than 30 seconds, very tall, impossible order for Hank to overcome.

The Middleweight fight between Garcia and Armstrong was only recognized by California anyway, even if Armstrong had won it. Light Heavyweight was far too big a jump, Armstrong was barely a Welterweight.

Garcia was a fairly talented fighter but he was a small mw

Correct me if I'm wrong, but was Garcia not just California State World Champion, or something like that? And I'm pretty sure that Armstrong only weighed 144 in that fight, too. No way he would've gone up to 175.
