Comments Thread For: JoJo Diaz surveys the damage he left behind and looks ahead to a new beginning
Joseph "JoJo" Diaz is in familiar territory: in a boxing ring in training camp, weeks out from his next fight. But he is also in rehab.

If they are talking just a personal resurgence - fine, great. But there is no way they should mention his career cause that is buried and done. He was knocked out for the first time in his last fight and is winless in God knows how many fights. This is DeJaVoodoo and groundhog day times 10. And DejaVoodoo fits perfectly. How many "resurgence" articles after each of his fights are there going to be??? He hasn't won in ages - only once in his last 6 fights!
Familiar and sad story - promising career derailed by personal problems including addiction and substance abuse.
The article is actually plugging an upcoming Diaz fight to be shown on ProBox TV which now owns this website.
So that's why we see this article.

i dont think it is nessasary for Jo Jo to bleed all over the article to get eyes on the fight, no need to get that personal just get into the the ring and fight if you still got something left it will show then after you win several fights if it is still in you then sure spill your guts then but not now....................yea it is an add for the upcoming fight but really need to go there ?

Sometimes it's good to know when an ostensible journalism website has, well, maybe not a conflict of interest, but an ulterior motive for dishing up "news".
Just saying.
The editor can easily and truthfully include such information in the story, and they can publish it pretty much as we see it now, albeit with a simple disclaimer. We will understand.
I'm not criticizing ProBox TV. I like what I'm seeing there so far. But I think BoxingScene can do better.

I hear what you saying. but there's only like 200k of us boxing fans in America. I think we all know lol. but yeah it's good practice for media be uo front
Very well written article. I always wondered what happened with the child endangerment charge. Hopefully Jo Jo can get some wins and get some more 6 figure pay days. His time as an athlete is coming to an end, and he needs to make as much money as he can.
