Who is more of a anomaly with their punching power Mike Tyson or Deontay Wilder

Mike Tyson was 5’10 215- 220 lb and could hit hard and fast and Wilder was 6’7 and 210-220 lb and could hit hard and fast for a lanky build. Who was more of a outlier?

Wilders right hand is significantly more powerful than any of Mikes punches. IMO Wilder has the hardest single punch in boxing history

I still am not sure how real wilders power was.

I'm not saying that it wasn't legit, a lot of his knockouts looked downright scary.

But there were guys even in his prime like Duhaupas and Molina who were able to take at least a few flush right hands off him.

It's hard to gauge, maybe some nights he just couldn't get his eye in.

People say that he showed he had no power against Parker and Zhang but I did notice he was doing that weird thing where he holds his right hand up with his left hand, he did it in one of the Fury fights as well and I suspect it may have been due to a broken hand in all of the fights (I know wilder makes excuses a lot but a guy who is that skinny who hits that hard likely has a lot of hand issues.)

Im pretty certain he had more single shot power than Tyson though, Mike was a guy who took you out with combos, and in his prime a fair number of opponents chose to stay down in my opinion

I’ve seen a number of videos with guys who have sparred Wilder (and the videos were not during a camp or anything where they might be biased).

They’ve said that he hits significantly harder than AJ and even harder than Wlad

He definitely hits harder than AJ that's for sure.

When you look like you had a rough night of drinking and you wake up in morning not looking pretty people say you look like you've been 10 rounds with mike tyson, not deontay.

In Boxing, where technique parameters are set not by "replication of a master's teachings" as in a TMA, but simply by the rules of sport; there is an effective style for every build and a build for every style. Wilder is of the same mold as Thomas Hearns, Bob Foster, Sandy Sadler.
Massive leverage. Tyson is a fireplug, able to transfer great strength with speed, into great force with accuracy.
Timing is critical to both, of course.

Considering the hate for Wilder and love for Tyson, it's obvious where the bias would go. Though based on career highlights, I'd say Wilder had the more freaky KO's and 1 punch power out of no where. Look what he did to Ortiz in their second fight. Lost every second of every rd, only to drop the hammer out of no where and flattened Ortiz. Granted Ortiz made a solid attempt to get back up but that was because his body was in shock and he couldn't believe all his work was about to be erased in an instant. Most Tyson KO's were setup shots from combos.

You can call Wilder's competition bum worthy for the most part, but a lot of folks forget Tyson's comp at that time was also bum worthy.
