Comments Thread For: Pain-Per-View: How not to build boxing?s fan base

After this past weekend ? with Canelo Alvarez-William Scull, Rolly Romero-Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney-Jose Ramirez ? boxing fans will think long and hard about spending money to watch the next ?loaded? fight card.

In professional wrestling the outcomes are pre-determined (but are occasionally subverted), the combat is staged & the bumps are real.

Surely all that's needed here is for His Schmexcellency to learn & then teach the finer points of kayfabe...?

PPV has turned boxing into a niche sport. None of the weekend's fights really justified being on PPV.

Keep on doing what you're doing Turki. There wouldn't be a need for three articles on the same topic if they weren't feeling the pressure.

Like these guys never put on a bad show. Zero blame on the fighters who were out there obviously pattycaking. Give me a break.

I looked at the two DAZN cards and it took only milliseconds to determine I'm not paying for that garbage. I would have watched a handful of those fights for free (or on subscription), but paying any additional money? NO WAY. My ESPN+ subscription is cheap and the two fights from their Sunday night card that I watched (Inoue-Cardenas & Espinoza-Vazquez) were well worth it.

All that low number of punches thrown has a reason: There are no PEDS. This is what boxers look like when they don't use PEDS.

                    Combine the fighters' purses.
                    75% winner 25% loser.
                    that will change things!
