Comments Thread For: Parker vs. Williams Early Results From Auckland, NZ

Reece Papuni scored three knockdowns en route to a 4th round knockout of Sam Rapira in a matchup of unbeaten light heavyweight.

The fight was a considerable step up in class for both fighters, but Papuni showed his worth as he controlled the fight from the opening bell. Rapira struggled to keep up, and then struggled to stay up as he was unable to avoid or absorb right hand power shots.

Papuni scored the bout's first knockdown late in round three. Rapira beat the count, but the ensuing volley nearly had him out only to be saved by the bell.

There was no such luck in the deciding round. Right hands produced two more knockdowns in round four, the second of the two prompting the referee to immediately halt the contest.

The official time was 0:51 of round four. [Click Here To Read More]

Hard not to be impressed by Joshua, but on the other side Parker appears to have it all, answering more questions in just as many fights.clearly not overly reliant on power, but more boxing ability.along with guys like Joshua,Usyk and Pulev we have the future of the divison right here.hard to find any flaws, even at this stage of his career.these pretenders like Fury and Wilder are a joke, somebody just give them their cash out fight so we can be done of them and get down to business with the real potential future champions.

Williams along with Zavorotnyi,Guinn and Johnson need to be lined up immediately for Joshua, durable opposition so he can get the rounds like Parker's handlers have intended to get him,a few solid opponents in their for Parker too to help his education along.

Looks like Joshua is headin in the direction of the British belt along with Price in a likely British ppv from what Price and Hearn are saying.Parker all the while a truly formidable propsect flys under the radar and up the rankings himself.hopefully they stay unbeaten, healthy and gain a belt post Klitschko to set up a colossal event.

from what I saw parker pretty much cruised to a win. Williams is a sore loser. he actually thought he won & cried home town decision. no wonder he got kicked out the wlad's camp. the tank can take a great shot though. good win for parker...

Watched the highlights and it looked like Williams was a live opponent and gave Parker some good needed rounds.
