What constitutes a close decision vs Wide decision?

Forget about how you viewed the fight and just look at the official scorecards for Garcia-Vargas.

Two judges had it 8-4 for Garcia and the verdict is UD.. how is that a close decision?

I'm confused. Doesn't UD stand for Unanimous Decision? That just means all three judges were in agreement

Yes and Two of them scored it 8-4...

In community colleges and bush leagues, that’s regarded as a close decision verdict.

Oh, someone should have told me. I'm in community college; I didn't get the memo.

I still don't see how UD=close decision. Maybe that's a lesson I missed at community college...

He didn't look like crap but he didn't do anything spectacular or push to end it. He'll always look like that at 147 unless he's fighting a pie cause he gives up too much size. I don't know why he insists on fighting at welterweight, he's not a dynamic fighter like a Pacquiao who had intangibles that would negate the size he gave up

This the Trump deception. If you rig a unanimous decision you can have your broadcasting team say it was close decision a thousand times to convince casuals they didn't just watch a robbery.

Exactly lol. And that’s what’s happening on this league. Bush league just lost its credibility even more
