At the start of the Hammer fight, the thumb of Fury’s glove is detached from the fist portion. In the old days, that’s how gloves were designed. They started connecting the thumb to the rest of the glove to avoid “thumbing” injuries to the eye. It’s shady that Tyson would show up with a new pair of gloves and the thumb is detached, but what benefit would he gain?
Why would Fury remove padding from his sparring gloves? What benefit is there to that? He could injure his sparring partners — whom, by the way, he’s hired to help him prepare — or he could injure his fists. Both undesirable outcomes.
To the best of my knowledge, in the two Wilder fights, there were a total of two instances where Fury’s gloves looked suspect. If there was something wrong with his gloves, wouldn’t we have more moments to point to? And, again, I ask, what benefit did Tyson gain? It’s been demonstrated that punching through the laced portion of the glove deliverers no power. In both cases, it appears to me that the likeliest thing is that Fury slapped Deontay. It’s an illegal tactic, but a far cry from cheating.
As for the steroids, I have no independent knowledge of the situation. I neither support or deny it, since I know nothing about it. All I can say is that PEDs are rampant in professional sports. Doesn’t make it right if Fury used them, but he’s far from the only one if he did.
Fury had throwback gloves on because he's a throwback fighter. Cut from that old school cloth.
Fury had been cheating through out his cereer........its getting bad in here for him now. Fans of his are scattering like roaches fleeing for their lives.
