I'm pretty worried RLC is finished from what hes shown so far. I've never wanted anyone to make it more but he looks very stiff and lost all explosiveness.

Such an awful injury. Doesn't seem confident in pushing off that leg or even changing direction. Essien had several potential career ending injuries but fooking his achilles defo seemed to turn him from a world clas midfielder to someone who could do a job at that level and no more.

Really hope I am wrong but without that physicality and ability explode over short distances I dont know where he can get to.

Would he gutted for him. Hes a 10 years younger than me but went to the same high school as I did so I'm strangely proud of him

Van de Beek is a player. I suppose 40m is the base price now days, so it's not a bad fee.

Van de Beek is similar to Ruben Loftus-Cheek, imo. Probably not as strong but not injury prone either.

I guess some more strength in depth would be great.

I mean they did try and get City.

City killed FFP stone dead.

I've been speaking to Liverpool fans whinging about Chelsea spending again even though Chelsea are well within FFP if it were a thing but it's not.

But it's dead now and what's more it has essentially been suspended for a few years due to clubs losing revenue.

I think some Liverpool fans thought everyone would just let them win it again.

He looks good Van De Beek but a note of caution was those stats going around that an 18 year old Mason Mount easily outperformed VDB last season over every metric in his season playing for Vitesse Arnhem a few years ago.

I like Mount. I like how nobody outside of Chelsea fans (not even all of them) rate him that highly. But unless he suffers a bad injury he will be a leading premier league midfielder for about a decade.

He's the new Lampard in so many ways. Except he is a better player now than Frank was at his age.

Mason Mount will be loaned next season he will not see the pitch except in cup games too many better attacking mids at Chelsea and he is not good enough to play deeper or holding midfielder

It is difficult because that defence in general is ****e and will continue to chop and change after each bad game and Silva is old might not adapt. Currently still no goalie.

On fone so will look ****e. And there will be a horses for course element. With Werner maybe being paired with another striker against bad teams. Kova ahead of Kante against teams that just play not to lose because he's better on the ball than Kante.

Mount and Havertz both could play anywhere that isnt in goal or defence as could RLC and Barkley.

My issue with our whole squad is obviously the keeper but also that Kante should probably have a price. He's not a defensive midfielder he can do it but his strength is hunting the ball wherever it is. Unless he can adapt his game a bit and not find himself ahead of the ball he needs to go. Opening up an opportunity for someone like Gilmour or Gallagher in the future or possibly Rice. You look at that Chelsea team and that front 5 players well at least 4 (I dunno anything about Havertz tbh) will be able to put a pretty good press on anyone. Kante doesnt need to get involved but we do need him to learn to drop in at centre half at times depending on where our defenders are.

He is a class player but I dont think that's him.
