6 Million Formerly Dependent Americans Are Now Off Food Stamps

Since President Donald Trump enacted policies that spurred job growth to historic heights, enabling millions to get a job that did not have one, many of those people have released themselves as well from the burden of being government dependent! Data from the Agriculture Department shows 6,268,285 individuals have left the food stamp program since Trump took office. It must be noted that food stamp use climbed to historic heights during the ***** era.

Government dependency is not good for people. The safety net should be just that, a safety net! This piece of data is definitely the most significant of the entire Trump list of accomplishments.

The ***** administration allowed states to waive work requirements for food stamps as part of a 2009 stimulus package. After that the number of childless adults on food stamps doubled. The number of able-bodied adults on food stamps grew from 1.9 million in 2008 to 3.9 million in 2010.

In February 2017, the first month after Trump took office, 42,297,791 persons were on food stamps. As of June 2019, only 36,029,506 persons were participating in the program. That is approximately 10% of the population.

6 million people supporting themselves that were not before is an incredible number. These are now people who can be proud of their hard work and accomplishment.

    The Daily Caller reports:
Similarly, 20,937,903 households were participating in the program in February of 2017 ?a number which slimmed down to 18,230,968 by June 2019 revealing that 2,706,935 households dropped out of the food stamps program since Trump took office.

Under the ***** administration as part of a 2009 stimulus package, states were allowed to waive work requirements for food stamps and the number of childless adults on food stamps doubled.

The number of able-bodied adults on food stamps doubled from 1.9 million in 2008 to 3.9 million in 2010 when ***** signed his stimulus bill and suspended a rule under the 1996 Welfare Reform Law that regulated how long able-bodied adults without dependents could collect food stamps.

This report once again confirms that President ***** has severely gutted the welfare work requirements that Americans have overwhelmingly supported since President Clinton signed them into law,?House Majority Leader Eric Cantor said in a September 2012 statement.

President Trump has taken a lot of grief about his efforts to lower government dependency by less fortunate Americans. It is not because he is cold hearted! He knows, it isnt good for people!

What is worse, is when able-bodied people are in the system, receiving welfare, it takes away from those truly in need! We have plenty of people that will always need to rely on some kind of help! I am all for helping them as much as we can! What I am against is giving those funds to people that CAN work! It is much better for them, as well as those in need, and as well as the tax-payer, for them to have a job and stand on their own two feet if possible!

We are at historic employment numbers, at all levels. Even those who are high school dropouts, and no college are at historic low unemployment numbers. Women, Blacks, Hispanics, all at historic lows.

These people who are working now feel good about their accomplishments and being able to support themselves! That is awesome! That is good for everyone!

The better number to see would be how many food insecure mfers were there before Donald & how many food insecure mfers there are now.

Its likely they are just getting food elsewhere. There are like 100 charities in Vegas that give food out weekly to the homeless & those living in poverty. Back where I lived in NY there were numerous such charities as well. I imagine thats going down in more cities too.

So idk if you should be patting anyone on the back quite yet when we dont reallllllllly know if a issue got solved or if a issue got pushed down the line to someone else.
