It seems simple enough on youtube vids but I am sure I'll mess it up.

It's basically big boy legos. Take your time, make sure the pieces are aligned with the motherboard slot, and double check your motherboard manual. Build it along to the video.

      Pro tips:

-All parts are made to fit with ease
-If it's not clicking in, don't force it

Although installing my 3rd party fan was a bit of task..

Yeah I've heard those after market fans can be a bit of a task. I still wouldn't mind, as long as I get a high quality PC and a fan that'll keep my overclocked processors running smooth.

My fan was easily the hardest part of installation. The way the bolts were arranged and the clamping system was tough to deal with, kinna made me feel scared for the motherboard tightening the screws lol. I have the Cooler Master 212, I think the latest one out is the "EVO" edition one

The cm EVO is great. I have the Noctua nh d14, thing is HUGE. Big pain in the ass, but great temps. I also don't like the Noctua colors.

Yeah those damn clamps are a big pain lol. I'll have to check out that EVO one since the fan on my old desktop is pretty old by now

Build your own, you will waste too much money on those websites you looking at. I have an fx6300 overclocked to 4.5ghz and my i3 2120 is on par or even better in some games. I would tell you to go Intel even if you get i3 because AM3+ is dead IMHO. You could always upgrade to i5 or i7 in future.
I currently got 4 PC's and all of them are budget builds.

the most expensive one I have cost me $600 and it runs bf4 @ 1080p Ultra with 60 fps. If I turn off AA i get about 79-87 fps.

Oh, is the i3 good? I have an i5 laptop and thought desktop i3 would not be strong enough?
