They not only need military parity with the US but they actually need military superiority

At it stands right now, even with equal strength they can't match the us and its allies

US doesn't even need to beat China

Just fight them to a draw and China losses

US is the largest energy producer in the world, we're self sufficient even not counting Canada and Mexico oil/gas that is next door

China imports 90% of their oil from the middle east, even with Russia pumping out to them at max

US is the largest food producer in the world, we can feed ourselves

China imports a lot of food to feed their 1.4 billion ppl, what makes it worse is that food comes from Brazil, usa, Argentina, Canada, etc.

US navy can block all oil from the middle east, just from the straits of Malacca
