Top 10 Golden Age Heavies With A Little Twist

From 1964 to 1978, the most iconic era in Heavyweight history; often cited as the time when the division, more than ever, teemed with talent. Of that large pool of great fighters, four of them are without question household names. Ali, Frazier, Foreman and Norton. These four are never left out of a top 10 list focusing on this time in the division. Anyone who reads these lists see these guys coming from a mile away.

Which is why, I want to see what your top 10 lists look like if you exclude these men. Who are your top 10 favorite golden age heavyweights besides the big four? I encourage you to try to briefly explain what you like so much about each fighter. As a bonus, maybe include a recommendation for their best fights; their “finest hours”, if you will.

    - - Won't rank em, but Terrell, Sonny, Bonavena, Buster, Young, Quarry, Shavers, Lyle, Bobick, and Ellis come to mind. Chuvalo, Patterson and Bugner could also fall in with that bunch.

Probably because Queen already nailed it (a couple of posts above.) I can't think of another name.

Describing their particular attitudes would be unnecessary for this audience.
