Where do you rate Mike Tyson?

Probably been asked a few times but be Intresting to get a few opinions.
He's probably slipped a fair bit from say ten years back, I've got Tyson around the 15 th greatest heavyweight. That can change day tu day to be honest.
Anyway, how do you see him rated lads?

Can't really argue with that mate.
I have him floating around there to 15, it depends. My lists change constantly, but some have him in the 30 s which is a little too low imo

About 12-14th all time. He lost his biggest and most famous fights badly. Vs. a fringe type of contender or journeyman he is a top 3 all time due to his explosiveness, aggression and power.

Interesting how history views Tyson, he has an army of armchair warrior critics who would crap themselves if they were in the same room as him, but i digress.....
He could have gone down as the GREATEST of all time, or at least one of the top three in most critics opinion if he hadn't fallen under the toxic spell of King.
I regarded the peak Tyson as a 'buzzsaw' heavyweight with the speed of a middleweight, no one could cope with the ferocity and speed of his punches, who the hell could find a heavyweight sparring partner like Tyson to prepare them?

The pre-Douglas Tyson was just starting to crumble because he didn't have a stable father like figure in the background to keep him focused, as physically fearsome as Tyson was, he was equally emotionally fragile. King effectively destroyed him (as he did with many other fighters).

At this moment in time i'm not really sure where to place Tyson? Undoubtedly top 15, top 10 quite possibly, but if he hadn't had the misfortune to link up with King then that top two or three spot would be there for the taking......

                  - - Before and after the Spinks fight, I recall many old salts quoted in Ring as saying they thought he was the best hvy of all time, unprecedented accolades never before recorded so early in a fighter's career.

He scarcely lost rounds, was never in any trouble at any moment in any fight by then, and done the impossible by uniting The Ring, WBC, WBA, IBF with the mythical lineal title awarded by leprechauns along with unprecedented pots of gold at the end of every fight rainbow.

Nobody had any inkling of the All Time Tag Team of Givens and her mother, DKing, dangerous experimental psychotropic sedatives proscribed by shrinks, Ms Desiree, and King's tax attorney representing Mike against **** charges combining forces to clink Mike into the Big House for 3 years.
