He got thrashed by Tunney when he was 31-32. Tunney won 19 of 20 rounds and probably would have knocked Dempsey out in the second one if it had been 15 rounds. He flat out flat out missed / avoided Wills and Greb. Those are / were his best competition then. Sad.
Anyway it's a good review of his best fights. He fouled and was really beaten by Jack Sharkey But... the low bowl blow and foul when Sharkey was complaining and turned his head only to be smashed to the chin by Dempsey. Sharkey was probably Dempsey's 2nd best opponent he fought. I view the Jack Sharkey fight as a no contest.
