What does that have to do with my reply. You are a liar. In no part of that article does Cox say Johnson quit as you claimed. Just another BS lie in a long list of BS lies. So I'll ask again....can you highlight and or copy and paste wear Cox says Johnson quit? If you cannot can you admit you're a liar or do not thoroughly read what's being written? Me thinks you'll make another excuse.
I am not saying in his article he says Johnson QUIT in this article that fight, I am saying he wrote that before in other articles. No BS. You are a selective reader.

"The guys you mention besides the fanboy are not familiar with the fight. Cox is ( a high level IBRO gut ) and he writes Johnson QUIT! So that's 4."
Two questions. First, how do you know the other guys I mentioned are not familiar with the fight? Did you make that up or can you back it up with factual proof? Second, why not post What Cox says about Johnson quitting if he actually said that, than a link that has nothing to do with it? From where I'm standing you are a beaten man (again) and are trying to save face by posting things you hope no one will follow up on. We've seen this before from you.travestyny

Seems to me, he deliberately fouled out. Did Wills quit against Sharkey? Did Tyson quit against Holyfield?
Don't see the argument. The referee stopped it because of excessive clinching. Is that a quit? It is a foul.
Here's another 'quit' to add to the mental mix. Should Camacho have been DQed against Trinidad? Was Camacho a quit?
In boxing 'quit' is obtuse. Is parameters are fluid.Last edited by Willie Pep 229; 05-29-2025, 04:02 PM.

Reminds me of the quote, 'everybody has a plan until they get hit.' It must seriously s uck to get into a fight and realize your outclassed and in danger.
SRL made a comment about the Camacho fight. After the first round he realized he made a big mistake and panicked inside.
Everyone in the beginning (back then) gets moved up too fast and outclassed, e.g. Dempsey against John Lester Johnson, Benny Leonard lost in his first fight, got stopped.
I don't know about the half starved thing. Maybe, but American blacks were living on the same edge as the Ellis Island peoples. Hunger wasn't ubiquitous, comfort and luxury were absent, ... so I believe. Maybe!

No one has surfaced the possibility that JJ went cross and got paid to tank. Then he was just bad at it.
Considered it surfaced. After all it is a color line trope, so maybe it's true.
