The opinion below is that his bias was due to being a former fighter himself. From the Gazette (Af. American Newspaper) in 1905.

And here is Bob Fitzsimmons saying he believes Johnson got "a bad deal".

I have seen it mentioned that Hart's camp wanted Greggains from the very beginning. Greggains was also the manager of the club. I wonder if his giving the fight to Hart had anything to do with Jeffries already declaring that if Johnson won, he still wouldn't get the fight. Maybe he was angling for Hart vs. Jeffries at his club since he knew Johnson vs. Jeffries was dead in the water...???

I haven't seen what Johnson himself thought of this. Here it says his manager "was satisfied."

This is like taking Fox News' opinion of an event over CNN's opinion of the same event.

It only serves to expose your bias. It doesn't get you anywhere near the truth.

Seriously this very same nonsense is alive all around you, at this moment. Why would you take the Sporting News over the Post? Do you know anything about either of these papers in 1908?
Another anonymous news article from over 100 years ago is all he has to stand on, like every other argument he fails to win.

I suppose you believe this is much better. Some Reno paper, some time ago....

By the way, funny that good ol' Willie didn't try to call you out for Jeffries using the word "prime." Talk about being selective, huh, Willie

You clowns always give yourselves away.

Any reports of riots or gangs of roving Black mobs beating up White people that you can point to for concrete evidence of this?
            - - Just me reporting what my uncle told me. Did they find some older white kid to beat up?

When Schmeling beat Louis JJ had to be rescued in Harlem by the police after he started flashing and bragging about the $$$ he won betting on Schmeling. JJ was eventually banned from Louis camps for being such a disrupting negative force.

And of course you know he abandoned black women for white **********s, right?

And he gave $$$ transported over state lines to his first white ********** wife to establish a brothel that resulted in his guilty Mann Act verdict where upon he promptly fled to Paris.

***** while in Harvard Law School became the first black prez of the Harvard Law Review, so surely even you recall after examining JJ files, he refused to grant JJ a Prez Pardon, but Rump did and even offered to Pardon Ali...

Them was Da Days then and now...

There is a reason he ducked him from the beginning.
              - - So, by default Jeff ducked Hart because since Hart whooped JJ and would Jeff...snickers...

You are a proven liar. Your uncle probably is as well.

He stated he wouldn't fight JJ even if he won. No one needed Hart to win a fight by slamming his face up against Johnson's fists repeatedly to know Jeffries would duck the fight.

                    - - Welcome to fight that dated quote.

After the Hart win, Jeffries announced there were no more compelling fights and he was retiring.

No matter, JJ had a miserable 1905 year with Hart and Jeannette whooping him...

Wrong. He stated he wouldn't fight Johnson even before the Hart bout...because he knew he'd get that ass beat.

Or as he would say, "I refuse to fight a Black man, just because I say so."

                      1904 - Clearly before the Hart/Johnson Fight.
