    - - Anyway, I always had Kearns staying on the east coast during Jack's Hollywood days, but he actually travelled there to the disgust of Estelle as he and Jack made some big mutual investments in a couple of Hotels. Dempsey's Hollywood House was beautiful with a private18 hole golf course for his backyard!

After the usual dustup over Dempsey's growing independence, Kearns cuts bait with a settle to return east. Meanwhile, the Tunney fight is looming as Kearns files 7 injunctions. It was so bad that Estelle was driving her Rolls that was impounded by a Cop such that she has to walk back steaming to the training camp grounds where she is trying to stand by her man.

Snickers.....in spite of the overwhelming difficulty of making a Wills fight after Willard up until he retired, he spent a lot of money and legal time trying to make that fight.

Moreover, when Tex was finally able to lure Jack back to boxing with a plan that led to Tunney, Wills blew it by turning down the Tunney title eliminator.

Wills, Paddy Mullins, and Sharkey both blew it that most especially obvious when Sharkey got KOed by Dempsey which is the same e result had Wills faced Dempsey in 1926 or 27.

What little film we have of Wills in this time frame shows him to be in poor nick. Blame JJ for ducking Langford, Jeannette, and Wills while he was in Paris. The only reason he took on Willard was that Willard was pretty much a nobody until he KOed JJ.
The court never gave a final assessment on damages. But since you know the court did say there would be damages, then you know that the court found he broke a valid contract to fight Wills. That's a good place for you to start from.

The court never said the fight was disorganized. The fight didn't have a chance to happen, dumbo. You guys that just blatantly lie in the history section are pretty disgusting, you must admit.

Wills couldn't have blown anything by having Dempsey break the contract to fight him. Dempsey had already been ducking him for years. Dempsey obviously wanted no part of it. If he did, he would have accepted the deal that would have paid him more than the Tunney fight, but he sidestepped it.

Too bad Dempsey wasn't as confident in himself as you are confident in him, or I'd imagine he wouldn't have ducked this fight for about 4 years and left more money than he'd ever make for any single fight on the table.

Dempsey got the car back the same day. The local cops realized Doc Kearns and a questionable judge had used them. They gave back the car.

          - - Try explain that to the detonating Estelle!!!

Anyway, when Dempsey traded his McFarlan for the Rolls after being offered a deal, his driver wrecked it almost killing them because of the Brit right handed controls.
