    Did Liston really have a shoulder injury?

    When he arguably quit vs [then] Clay? Or had he had enough by then? Hell even the liniment treatment hadn't worked.

    Can't see evidence even in that last rd. Still throwing the same.

    Any proof anywhere, medicals etc.?

      Maybe this is as close to "the answer" as we will get:

      "But David Remnick spoke to one of Liston's cornermen for his book, King of the World, and was told the shoulder 'was all BS...cooked up on the spot' so as not to jeopardize Liston's rematch with Clay.""

          I have thought that too.
          Plus he feared a T/KO as there was nothing he could do...Was getting pummelled and getting worse, outjabbed etc., eye damage
