Hatton linked with De la Hoya bid
Hatton may make early return
Ricky Hatton is considering teaming up with Oscar de la Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions in his bid to make his mark in America.
His father Ray told ********** "They've made us a good offer and we're very interested but there's still a couple of things to be worked out.
"We haven't made up our minds on who we're signing with just yet.
"Obviously Ricky's next fight has got to be in America. Realistically we should have been there two years ago."
A decision on where Hatton's future lies is expected next month with Ray adding: "We always go away for our family vacation on 19 January and we expected to have this all sorted out before then."
Hatton unified the IBF and WBA light welterweight titles by knocking out Carlos Maussa in Sheffield last month.
De la Hoya enjoyed a glittering career in the ring, winning Olympic gold in Barcelona in 1992 and holding titles in six different weight divisions from super featherweight to middleweight.
He is also becoming just as successful outside the ring having already staged the two middleweight world title fights between Jermain Taylor and Bernard Hopkins and also has Marco Antonio Barrera and Shane Mosley on his books
