Great highlight reel for Conor, but he displayed too many flaws in this fight. He completely abandoned the jab, was wide open for counter shots, and even ate a few good shots early in the first round. He absolutely cannot do this at the elite level of the division. I'd expect, though, when facing the top dogs at welterweight, he will slow down and pace himself for the long hall.

As for Broner, he last fought at WW, so I still consider him a WW.

There is debate about how good or great Benn is, as he hasn't really fought a real top fighter yet, but can't dispute his raw power.
He's exciting, has a kind of basic style as his dad Nigel, and inherited that power.
No use wasting time fighting the likes of Broner and Guerrero.
It would be riveting viewing to see him against Ortiz Jr or Ennis, and the winners to fight whomever has the titles.

I think he needs to stay at this level for a couple years. Yes keep the hype train going by fighting ex champs from a division lower of 10 years ago (Algieris, Khan's, etc. ) but don't let him walk into a legitimate top 10 welterweight or he will face advertisity.

It's against Hearn's religion to pay for his guy to get beat, so one of two things might happen. There's a reason why Eddy promotes so many shocking upsets, he feeds his guys sure things, until they take it for granted and get KOd by a supposed victim. Or, somebody else wants Benns scalp bad enough to pay for it, like Fury v Whyte. Hearn dropped that bid on Warren.

If they can't get fights, then they should fight each other. And please don't say they are too young. All of them have been pros for 6 goddamn years. By the time Leonard was in his 6th year as a pro, he had fought Benitez, Hearns, and Duran twice. De la hom0 by his 5th year had fought Hernandez, Camacho, Sweet Pea, and Chavez. These mfers have fought NO ONE and continue to beat up on journeymen. 6 years is close to a ***in decade. How much time do they need???Oldskoolg likes this.

Benn vs. Broner will be entertaining from a marketing standpoint. I could actually see Benn facing Broner in the U.S., completely destroy Broner and then becoming a bigger household name than Ennis. That's what PBC needs to prevent.Oldskoolg likes this.
