Hahahaha. The boxers lead the MMA fruitcakes when crossing over. Mercer, Jeremy half man-half amazing....Butterbean!
Of course they do! Boxing is where all the high priced fighters flock to.
What would Ngannou do differently if the rules were MMA against Joshua?
Kick? He's a C rate kicker. Grapple? He's no expert in that either. He'd roll up and get knocked out. Same outcome.

He found that what worked against Blaydes, Hamilton, Arlovski, Overeem, Stipe, Cain and Junior (the best MMA can produce) just gets you nearly killed in the big leagues. End of that.
Rico, in case you forgot, is a Fury sparring partner.

A clean fight gets you 30 million.
A dirty fight gets you shot.

    Lol

I expect it will happen the second the rematch is announced.

The mandatory is due. Maybe if this fight had happened earlier then the IBF might have held off, but they waited and waited.

        Who cares? Ignore the belts

Usyk is the top guy. Whoever beats him in heavywright champ. If no one beats him and he retires then belts mighr natter again as someon3 has to go throught the nightmare of collecting them again to prove themselves

It doesn't matter if he has no belts, he is the real champion until he is beaten or retires.

Someone could win all 4 belts and I would only consider them #1 contender for the HW championship as long as Usyk is active.

            Ban the Sanctioning bodies!......

Usyk's reign as undisputed champion may last only two weeks

Oleksandr Usyk's reign as undisputed heavyweight world champion may last only weeks if, as many expect, the International Boxing Federation (IBF) takes back its belt due to the Ukrainian's rematch clause with Tyson Fury.

The IBF's long-time mandatory challenger is unbeaten Croatian Filip Hrgovic, who is scheduled to fight Britain's Daniel Dubois on June 1 in Riyadh.

That bout could become an IBF title fight if the U.S.-based body follows past form, with the winner tipped to then go up against Britain's former champion Anthony Joshua later in the year.

The IBF stripped Fury in December 2015, 10 days after the Briton took that title along with the WBA, WBO and IBO belts from Ukrainian Wladimir Klitschko.

Then, as now, there was a rematch clause that ruled out a title fight with the IBF's then-mandatory challenger Vyacheslav Glazkov.

Reuters contacted the IBF for a comment, without immediate response.

Usyk - now the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO champion - said in the ring after his split-decision over Fury that the rematch was on and Fury made clear he was expecting it.

"I'll be back. I've got a rematch clause," said the previously undefeated Briton, who had held the WBC title.

His promoter Frank Warren added that it was Fury's decision to make.

"That's what the contract says. It's what he wants. It's his call, it's Tyson's call. So whatever he wants to do, it's up to him," Warren said.

The fight in the early hours of Sunday morning unified the major heavyweight titles for the first time since Lennox Lewis last held them in 2000.

Lewis was WBC, WBA, IBF and IBO champion until the WBA stripped him of its belt because he chose not to fight a mandatory challenger. The IBF took away its belt in 2002 for similar reasons.

"The #FuryUsyk winner will be undisputed (have the 4 belts) for less than 2 weeks," leading U.S. boxing journalist Dan Rafael told his 287,000 followers on X.

"Winner will, by contract, vacate the IBF title which will be contested by overdue mandatory Hrgovic and Dubois on June 1. A 25-yr wait to get 2 weeks of another undisputed heavyweight champ."

Yes! No reason for anything to happen until an opponent is announced. Then some sanctioning body will find cause to strip him.

Beats me how Dubious ever got a title shot vs Usyk and now might have another without ever beating anyone of note and having his ass handed back to him by Joyce and Usyk.

Fisheyes must stuff them envelopes full and swallow rather than spit.

Dubious wasn't a terrible choice. It was suspose to be Uysk-Fury but that wasn't happening.

Besides, there is a tradition that a new champion gets an easy one. Sometimes disguised as a mandatory.

The fight was staged in Poland, as close to U kraine without getting shot at, and so it was a "show case" fight.

Dubious had many KOs so it was likely he would come to fight, and he did.

Think of it as a 'home coming" fight for a new champion.

Fury wouldn't commit so in the meanwhile we got a well staged "show casing" of Usyk's skills.

It also had an extensive undercard to give the fans a show. 12 total fights.

You got to keep the game alive when a HW Champion sits on the title as Fury did.

It looks to me in retrospect, to have been a good night for boxing.

                      SIDE NOTE

                      I can't post the word U kraine.

                      Why is that?

                      Here it is: "Ukraine"

                      Why?

                      Can I post R ussia?

                      Here it is: "Russia"

                      Guess not!
