If this was Canelo instead of Bivol would we have the same energy?

Let’s call a spade a spade… Is Bivol “ducking” Benavidez?

If he fights Michael Eifert or some nonsense, then sure.
The majority of people had Bivol beating Artur twice wanting Benavidez next makes sense
People who think Artur won fight 1 and don’t want an immediate trilogy make NO sense
wake up Artur is 40 and was getting injured in every other training camp
Artur is at the age where trilogy is now or never
Only good reasoning for skipping the immediate rematch is Bivol beat Artur twice

Bivol lost fight one.
And unfortunately for you
Turki dgaf he had Bivol 7-5 in fight 1 and will make the trilogy next anyways
The man calling shots is making as little sense as you are

Neither fight was that entertaining, the styles don’t gel. An immediate rubber match isn’t needed. The demand isn’t there.

There’s no cohesive argument Bivol won the first fight. I don’t think he won fight two clearly either but no issue with him getting the decision.

After seeing these guys fight 2 times, I'd rather see Bivol fight Benavidez next.

The good news is Benavidez is only 28 in his prime and should peak in any fight now
The bad news is David’s volume is about 125 punches less [mainly jabs] per fight than Tiger Paw Artur
so lower chances of David outworking Bivol like Artur did later on in fight 1
Maybe you’ll skip the trilogy.
David will still be young enough for the winner in Q2 2026

in fight 2 Tiger Paw Artur with his 100% knee was able to regularly change levels sit down on shots do some pullcounters and throw that long right hook to the body that he loves. He started faster too
Fight 1 was lot of arm punching
The most intriguing part of fight 3 will be the pacing
each time they’ve fought so far Bivol always won the early rounds. Can Artur change this dynamic
I believe fight 3 will be as wide as Floyd-Maidana 2 in score but more competitive throughout
Artur will attempt to ko Bivol with big right that he caught Bivol with a couple of times each in fight 1 and 2 when they exchanged rightsLarryMerchant'sBottle likes this.

PBC have offered Bivol 8m to fight David, which is far more than the 2.7m Bivol was paid for Beterbiev rematch. So the ball is in Bivols court, if he doesn't take the fight its a duck.
I would be surprised if he scared of David though, unlike with Canelo where I was convinced.
