If the Sturm fight fills a good sized venue and gets good ratings on UK TV then they'll keep Barker here fighting guys from the lower half of the top 10 at best for as long as possible.

I think HBO should put up some big money for Martinez-Golovkin. Because if that fight doesn't happen there's no guarantee Golovkin gets a chance to prove himself as the man to beat in the eyes of everyone rather than just hardcore fans. As things are going now it seems that nobody wants to fight the guy unless paid more than they're worth, so the top 5 guy they overpay may as well be the champion of the division rather than a belt holder.

Sad day to hear that - felix sturm is one of the worst champions in recent times, the only credit I will give him is hiscontrovercial loss to de la hoya. I really wish he gets ko'd to just go away - he is the scariest champion I can remember. Its like there are no morw under dog fighters that dare to be great - yes GGG is good but he has not fought the level of comp to be considered great and for hearn to not want to get that belt for his guy is sad! GgG has weaknesses it s just everyone is sipping the kool aid so no one wants to try to uncover them - mike tyson/ manny P / alfredo angulo / james kirkland / vassily jurov / sonny liston / george foreman / tommy Hearns / and the list goes on and on of big bad fighters that seemed invincible, but someone dared to be great and e posed them - this is what makes boxing one of the best sports on the planet !

Barker has big money fights that would actually be highly demanded in the UK against the other British fighters. (and Sturm too since he's fought all the British guys) This is actual real genuine demand, not demand from a boxing forum. Why fight Golovkin when you have the option to fight your British contemporaries for a lot of money already? That's where the big money comes in if a Golovkin fight were to happen. I don't see the problem with wanting big money. What's the controversy exactly? Barker isn't a Curtis Stevens with very little leverage.

What? Do you expert Hearn to say "We'll fight Golovkin for a small purse"? They said they're going to sit down with HBO after the Sturm fight and obviously HBO is going to push for the Golovkin.
