Egor Mekhontsev, remember the name.

This Russian LHW powerhouse beat Usyk, Clemente Russo, Acosta etc in the AMs

Already on this one - along with Beterbiev - an incredibly exciting coupla signings at LHW. It looks to me like TR and GYM saw Kovalev and figured - hell, these russian ex-ams can be really special and we can pay em peanuts!

Yeah - that Kid Cajigas has a record that actually belies his ability, fast and tough, but at the end of the day Mekhontsev was a top flight amateur with a style almost designed for the pros, once he started letting his hands go there could only be one outcome.

I was very impressed with Ego mekhontsev when he won olympic gold in london 2012.
Here's a good with him in the semi finals against yamaguch falcao who has just turned pro also and signed Golden boy.
Notice Egor seems to get better with each round passing, seem to can fight very well on the front or the back foot.

I can't exactly remember the fight, but I remember the guy he fought against came to survive. I remember it being a good show, these eastern block fighters are generally a threat if you're not taking them serious.

You are just assuming that. I would obviously like to see a more active Dirrell and I do question his mentality but I would give GGG a lot of credit if he fought him.

To me that is a serious risk for GGG that would answer all questions.
