Comments Thread For: Miguel Cotto Unsure if He'll Stay at 160 After Martinez

On June 7th Miguel Cotto will attempt to make history by picking up a championship in a 4th weight class when he faces Sergio Martinez at Madison Square Garden in New York.

jeetwin188.com recently spoke to Cotto who acknowledged that the chance to make history was the deciding factor in why he decided to face Martinez and not Canelo Alvarez or any other fighter.

He'll stay at 155 so other jr middleweights and welterweights will have a crack at the middleweight title if he wins.

Cotto looks soft in the ring at 154lbs, at 160 he will look a bit like a meatball. He should one and be done, go back down to 154 and fight winner of Canelo-Lara, he can even fight Canelo at CW of like 156-158 since Canelo is having trouble making 154 anyway. That's if Canelo wins and Cotto wins. But also, if Canelo and Cotto both lose their next fight, I don't see why they can't fight.

When Martinez takes a page out of Margarito book on Cotto ass he will move back down in the quickness.

He better get the **** back down after the suicide mission he has coming up and that's if he does not take a career ending beatdown. 160 is too much for Cotto's frame. Got to respect cotto for taking the Martinez fight.

If Sergio can climb into the ring without the help of a nurse then Cotto shouldn't be a middleweight for much longer than ten minutes.
