i dont think either man is afraid of the other, if that's what you're implying.

i think golovkin would take the fight for a high hbo level payday, and ward will hold out for ppv money.

if you're looking for a single party to blame more than the other, it's ward and his people.

Ward would LOVE a fight with GGG. People forget he won Olympic gold metal at LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT. He's far more experienced than GGG and bigger. GGG isn't going to show him nothing he's ever seen before, not speed, not power, not ring generalship. NOTHING. GGG would be wise to stay away from him unless he needs a paycheck.

I think so too.... Ward seems really focused on PPV right now

ward is going to look for ppv money for the fight. he got paid two million for the rodriguez fight. that's about as much as hbo can pay him for a "championship boxing" card.

it's hard to blame him for asking for more against GGG, a better fighter who would make for a much bigger fight, but that's what would keep the fight from happening.

            there's also the goossen fiasco.

he got a taste of that 2 million aginst rodriguez, and wants a piece of the bigtime.

hbo shot itself in the foot. i get what they're trying to do. showtime stole mayweather from under their noses, and they want to tie up the guy that they thing will be the best p4p fighter in the future.

I think the only PPV fight out there for Ward right now is against Chavez Jr.... and I think Arum would've only given it to him if he joined him. In light of what's happening though.... I feel like since Chavez Jr will leave now, Arum will sacrifice him to Ward in hopes he teams up after 2016.

GGG and Kovalev aren't PPV yet.
Neither had that breakout fight or fought an opponent to get them out there

He deserves a PPV and he should be making top dollar unfortunately for some reason people just don't seem to like him. He doesn't act like a spoiled brat. He doesn't act like a thug. He's a family man, responsible, respectful and religious. I don't get it . He's probably my favorite fighter out there. Wish he fought more.

I don't think either mind fighting each other. I think it's more building up of the fight. Give GGG a few top-notch opponenets at 168 (Froch, Groves, Kessler, etc), prove he's worthy at 168, and make it a mega fight.

It's too early in GGG's career to take on Ward from a financial stand-point. I personally think Ward dominates him. But, milk all the hype out of him, make his name known, then fight on a big PPV.

These guys both have fought on mega stages against top-tier competition in the amateurs at very impressionable stages in their lives. I think they wouldn't mind facing each other at this point. It's not really a big deal to them.

GGG's team said he's not ready for Ward and that it's an unfair fight....
