Comments Thread For: Golovkin Will Be Watching Out For Geale's Body Shots

After watching some videos of former two-time champion Daniel Geale (30-2, 16KOs), IBO/WBA middleweight king Gennady Golovkin (29-0, 26KOs) became aware that his Australian challenger throws a very good hook to the body. They are going to collide on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Geale is considered to be the toughest opponent of Golovkin's rising career.

This will look like every other Golovkin fight. Within a rd or two the guy wil feel Golvkins power from his jab alone, and if that doesnt do the tric, the hooks and straights will.He will get wide eyed and start backing up as Golovkin breaks him down and finishes him.

Smart move because that's where everyone thinks he's vulnerable so they'll try to wear him down to the body. Should be a good fight, don't think this will be as easy as people are making it out to be.

Yes: he tries to sell some more tickets.

Of course that's difficult to nullify the opponent's bodywork (look at Lara, for instance), but it's not that difficult when you hit hard to the body yourself (Golovkin's case)...

geale comes out confident that he is a level above anybody ggg has fought and that he can hang with the champ. Geale mixes it a little in the first 2 or 3 rounds and proceeds to get hurt and shook up pretty bad. Geale soon realizes he can't mix it with GGG and goes into a defensive shell. GGG hunts him down for the next 5 or 6 rounds cutting off the ring giving Geale nowhere to hide. GGG gets the stoppage circa 8-9 rounds.

We'll see a lot of uppercuts from GGG to the head/solar plexus. Geale's head and upper body position scream for proper uppercuts. The openings will be created by body shots. But the uppercuts will surely be one of the most used GGG's weapons.
