Comments Thread For: Chad Dawson Furious: That's Bull****! They Want Me Out!

In an upset at Foxwoods, light heavyweight Tommy Karpency won a 10 round split decision over former world champion Chad Dawson.

After back-to-back losses to Andre Ward and Adonis Stevenson, Dawson returned to the ring on June 21 in Carson, Calif. He knocked out former fringe contender George Blades in the first round. Karpency, who took the Dawson fight on three weeks' notice, had won two fights in a row prior to the Dawson bout.

those al haymon fighters are always getting shafted. when are they going to catch some breaks? these guys can't live off 700k a fight. they need to feed their children.

Just saw the fight, that was the poorest performance from Chad, he looked flat. Karpency was timing Chad with the left-cross and right hook a lot. Chad's left was absent most likely because his left shoulder was injured, the commentators even mentioned that, and even Karpency mentioned that.

What's even more odd was that Eddie Muhammad was not in Chad's corner. Dawson's strength and conditioning was the trainer, makes you wonder how well they prepared for the fight.

I thought Dawson edged out the decision. But he really shouldn't be having such a close fight with someone like Karpency in the first place, he only has himself to blame.

Well his left shoulder was injured, he couldn't throw the left. When Dawson would go in a flurry he would only be using his right hand and that made him vulnerable to Kaprency's left cross.

... Andre Ward fought with an injured shoulder since he was like 12 years of age...

Hey daggum, doesn't this enhance Joe Calzaghe AND Nathan Cleverly's legacies?

It's best he steer clear of Stevenson for the time being.

No: he still can fight Pascal, Campillo, Bute...
