Comments Thread For: Khan's Trainer: Brook/Hearn Bank on Lucky Punch To Win

Virgil Hunter, trainer of Amir Khan (30-3, 19KOs), is very confident that his boxer has more than enough to defeat unbeaten domestic rival Kell Brook (33-0, 22KOs), who holds the IBF welterweight championship.

Since last year's title winning decision over Shawn Porter on American soil, Brook has demanded a fight with Khan. Brook's promoter, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport, has placed a hold on Wembley Stadium for a date in June - in the event they are able to bring Khan to the table.

Brooks relies on timing to deliver his punches. They are so wrong about him

And that punch WILL land. Then Khan gets sent to Pluto

There is no such thing as a lucky punch in boxing

... Hunter should know that Brook rather "banks" on clinching...

            He wouldn't clinch vs khan

He's much bigger and stronger than khan and khan isn't an inside fighter

              Exactly.

Like Khantards saying Danny 'got lucky'.

Lucky punches do not exist in Professional Boxing, only poor defenses.

Say what you will but Hunter is not wrong. I have a strong feeling that if/when this fight happens, Brook will get Alexander'd.

Yes, I know Brook punches harder and with better technique than Devon but what makes y'all so sure he can deal with Khan's vast speed advantage? And it's the new, more defensively responsible Khan we're talking about.

Brook is not a good match-up for Khan. Brook has just as good a jab as Khan, hits harder, is naturally bigger, and has great timing.

It's not luck to time Khan's repetitive lunges.
