Comments Thread For: Holyfield on Mayweather-Pac: A lot of Running, Hugging

Former undisputed cruiserweight and heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield left the MGM Grand feeling very unsatisfied last Saturday night. The Hall of Famer came to Las Vegas to watch the showdown pushed as the "Fight of The Century" as Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao finally collided. Mayweather on a twelve round unanimous decision victory.

"I’ve attended the three biggest fights of the year so far: Deontay Wilder vs. Bermane Stiverne, Wladimir Klitschko vs. Bryant Jennings, and now Mayweather vs. Pacquiao. And you know what I’ve seen? Not much boxing. In 36 total rounds, I saw zero knockdowns. I saw a lot of holding and hugging, and a lot of running. I saw three, 12-round unanimous decisions," Holyfield told the Player's Tribune.

Holyfield is right. I've been saying it for a while, but glad to know he thinks it too.

Agree with holyfield. That's why I will always love guys like kovalev. I just cant enjoy a fight where the other guy is basically avoiding any type of action and is just playing tag. no real intent on the punches.

oh well as long there are guys like kovalev, walters , ggg i'm good.

If Floyd did half of the aggressive fighting that Holyfield did, Floyd would be looked at differently. Could you imagine Floyd going up against comparable fighters that Holyfield fought and going toe to toe with them? Never.

bless the ole fellah, i blame the 8itchko sister for the holdin n huggin.
deontay and stiverne wasnt an elite match up but i picked deontay to knock stigverve the fook out inside of three and the fmj vs pac fight...an almost perfect demonstration by the great floyd mayweather (jnr) as to how you beat an elite fighter by doing almost EXACTLY what he said he would do to ANY opponent..."neutralise his good skills and control EVERYTHING".
yknow its funny, coz uncle freddie said "he dont run boxing" hmmmm....
ran yall right outa town boy! haha! yknow, sometimes...(not often) but, sometimes...i wish i was an american. god bless america! god bless gritz(whatever that is) god bless chickens, gravy, produce and thanks giving (whatever that is) lol
