Yea, suddenly the GolovKids say he's all about big money fights, even though he's NEVER had one. So, from what we've seen, Golovkin will fight any stumblebum out there, but if the guy is a challenge (be it the bigger Ward or smaller Lara) he must be promised a pot of gold. Previously, when Mayweather/Pacquiao/Cotto/Canelo have avoided fights at a particular point in time, and stated that the financials do not make sense..... they then move on and face a better paying opponent.

who exactly is left for ward at smw? Degale was literally the only legit choice but now that hes with haymon its not really a possibility

well i mainly had degale in mind. i understand the potential political obstacles, but i'd still like to see an earnest attempt to make the fight. ward isn't locked in to a network so the only real barrier to overcome is the alleged feud between haymon and jay-z, which if i recall correctly someone from roc nation downplayed recently (i mean they hardly have a big enough stable right now to be picky about who they work with) - plus i assume that hearn will still have a big say in degale's career and that he wouldn't let haymon unilaterally dictate where he gets his money from. but i'd be content with chudinov and ramirez being his next two opponents and then seeing how the landscape looks after that

there's a bigger difference in size between cotto and golovkin than there is between golovkin and ward. miguel cotto is not a natural middleweight. golovkin and ward have been at or above 160 for over a decade.


miguel cotto was a 140 lber to start, if you recall. he was at his best at 147 lbs. he had decent speed, power, and was a great boxer. beat judah, mosley. margarito ruined that fighter. during that time, golovkin and ward were amateurs at LHW and MW respectively.

I think people forget that Cotto started at 140 sometimes.

gennady golovkin on ppv. that's the only ppv fight for ward. just look at NSB. what else do they talk about other than ward, golovkin? i think it's got the boxing world going as crazy as any other fight. obviously casuals don't know it, and mayweather, pacuqiao, cotto, canelo, klitschko in germany, will still sell better because of that.


maybe kovalev at 175 is a ppv for ward, but that's at least a year down the road. i think that's the fight they're looking for that,.


they're obviously going ot try and get the fight with the smaller guy on ppv over the bigger guy on HBO. that's smart. the bigger guy will still be there when you finish fighting the smaller one. you really shouldn't move to 175 and back down again.

To be fair it makes no difference where a man starts his career. Guillermo Jones started at 147 pounds. Doesn't mean he's a tiny cruiser weight.

but yeah, I hear you about the size difference between Cotto/GGG. I think the problem here is Cotto has the belts and a pretty important one at that (lineal champion). If he was just some random vacant title holder no one would care. But he's not, so that's the problem. Even K2 have stated they are fine if Cotto doesn't want to fight Golovkin, they won't hold it against him, they just want his belt. Which by every right, they should. GGG has been waiting a long time for his shot at the lineal crown, he's way past due.

Why do fans care what boxers ratings are or who paying what it's the fights that matter and being as though Bumlovkin have no fight lined up and biggest fight out there to made atm is him vs ward all that bs of fighting on bet don't matter stop with the excuses HBO backing fight if it's made the dude was just still willing a few weeks ago to fight froch at full 168 but ward at 164 it's a duck and you consigning it

His team had been talking a big game about GGG owning 154-175. But more to the point, CW does not work because it would make Ward movin to 175 a cluster **** of a sacrifice.

No one is forcing Ward to fight GGG at 164 or any other weight. In fact as far as we are all aware, no official offer has been made to Ward or GGG or their camps. It is just more back and forth media BS. In the end it really does not matter who Ward fights first, GGG or Kovalev, because it will be the only one he ends up fighting. Once he loses, the other will have no interest in fighting him and he can go back to digging up more out of shape clowns like Smith to fight.

So basically, Ward should take whichever of the two will get him the bigger payday because it may well be his last big one.

The catch weight is just a smokescreen , as it allows GGG to gracefully bow out while saving face to his brainless followers . But it's not working very well, as now, most of his followers r now growing brains and realizing that this guy is pathetic .

ward's only business at 168 is gennady golovkin. after that, it's on to kovalev. kovalev needs to be built. he's just not a ppv attraction yet, but he's getting there. ward also needs to take 175 seriously, and get a solid win there.


i just want everybody to get used to the idea of paying to see golovkin-ward, and eventually ward- kovalev [if ward can beat golovkin.]

these are the guys they're trying to build into the stars of boxing after floyd, cotto, manny retire.


i hope kathy duva and roc nation can handle building a star like that.
