Comments Thread For: Ward's Lawyer: GGG's Coach Crossed Line With 'Liar' Jab

Things are certainly heating up between the respective teams of WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (33-0, 30KOs) and WBA super middleweight king Andre Ward (28-0, 15KOs).

In a Friday night article on jeetwin188.com, Roc Nation executive Michael Yormark, who promotes Ward, lashed out at Golovkin's promoter, Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions - regarding Team GGG's statements regarding a potential fight with Ward.

This is ridiculous. Fighting in the courtroom but not fighting in the ring? If it is sent to arbitration, I'll wager that they make the fight at 164. After all, Andre Ward got to fight Chad Dawson at 168.

There's 2 sides to every story so I'm not going to cheerlead but Abel Sanchez does need to STFU. He's the one that put the 154-168 comment out there in the public, said Willie Monroe was more know than Lara and keeping the talks of a potential Ward fight alive.

Right now GGG has a lineup of winnable big money fight possibilities. Why move up and take an L that will kill that momentum? It's the May/Pac business strategy. Ride the money train until the fans get tired of it and only fight each other when forced to.

I like what Ward is doing. He kept his mouth shut, called their bluff, and is now moving on to face a bigger challenge in Kovalev. His inactivity was frustrating and not fighting Dawson at 175 didn't sit well with me but he looks to be headed back in the right direction.

i dont blame ward actually. team ggg is playing a game where they pretend they will fight ward if and that ward doesnt really want the fight and all this bs instead of just coming out and saying yea were not gonna fight ward its not in our best interest if we lose the money train will be half as valuable but they wont they keep trying to drag wards name thru the mud instead of admitting the truth all while half admitting they are scared and half pretending ward is the reason the fight wont get made but they wont even entertain a negotiation where they could request catch weights purses whatever cause they flat out dont want the fight. they would rather chase around little cotto and andy fricken lee. oh booooooy andy lee vs ggg is such a better fight then the best possible fight in boxing right now of ward ggg. It all begs the question why did team ggg even come out in the media and say for fight to be made they want 164 and 50 50 why did they even say that if they had no intention of fighting no matter what? im sorry ggg fans but u have to realize whats going on here even if u dont want too

honestly now am i missing something? i dont think i am and i dont want to hear name calling bla bla bla none of the kiddie games am i missing something? its kinda hard now for ggg fans considering wards now going to fight kovalev that excuse went out the window

They are speaking of lies when this article refers to Ward as a "Super Middle Weight King" when he was beyond the limits of the SMW division in his last fight and has allegedly made the official jump to LHW. I call foul and someone will be hearing from my lawyer because of false advertising.

I sure hope they're promoting a future fight with all this chatter. I guess at worst it gives the fans something to talk about. Either way, it looks like Ward will take on an elite opponent and challenge next year. What else is new?

It's hearsay and you can only sue for defamation if you are harmed in a physical or financial way due to the false claims of others which have to be proven to be false. Sounds like crying on their parts because the negotiations with HBO aren't going as planned......looks like it's back to plan B (GGG) for them.
