Judge Canelo on what he does after the Cotto fight. He could easily talk the talk now and back out later, so it really makes **** all difference what he says at this point.

When it comes down to it I dont see Canelo being able to avoid GGG with a catchweight anyway. This isnt Mayweathers fanbase, these are Mexicans. They wont buy into this bullshit.

We can " go over this " until the cows come home, but unless Cotto puts on some weight pretty damn quick he will likely still weigh 153 if that fight rolls around.

Did you either..... forget that Cotto weighs 153, or did you leave that fact out of your post on purpose?

Its ok, the next time " we will go over this " I will remind you again
Cotto weighed in at 153.6 for a catchweight of 157 and 155 for a catchweight of 159.

He would weigh more than 153 for a fight at 160, probably within a pound or 2 of GGG, who has weighed in as low as 157 before.

But that's just academic, really. The officially sanctioned weight for both those fights was 160lbs. Same for Cotto/Canelo.

The sanctioned weight for a MW title fight is always 160lbs. Catchweight agreements between the fighters don't alter that.

The truth is GGG is not much different from Canelo or Mayweather or Pacquaio. They all want an advantage against a less marketable threat. PERIOD. These guys are all human, no one is a warrior that fights anyone, anywhere, anytime for free.

You all need to stop being biased for once, use the same standards for everyone and stop making excuses.

Also while I agree that Canelo and GGG are very similar in size, weighing the same as someone doesn't automatically make you the same size. Klitschko is bigger than almost all his opponents but some of those shorter guys like Leapai and Peter have either outweighed him or being very close to doing so, yet they didn't look the same size in the ring.
Canelo won't have to put on 5lbs of belly fat to fight at 160.
He'll actually just have to cut less weight than he does fighting at 155lbs

Canelo and GGG are not even close to the same size! Canelo needs to stay at 154 but that seems to be a difficult prospect for Canelo. Mayweather forced him to fight at 152 and his team was making issue probably because Canelo has a difficult enough time making 154.

I imagine Canelo and Cotto are going to be sick and tired of talking about GGG by Nov 21st.
Seems like every interview they do lately they have to answer questions about fighting Golovkin.
Canelo might snap if he rolls into the weigh in all drained and looking like a zombie and has to answer questions about fighting GGG lol

As far as i'm concerned though, if you're fighting at 155, then you are in the MW division so you take on all comers from 155-160 or move back down to 154, simple as that. If you can't make 154 then you're in the Middleweight division so accept it and fight them. Catchweights need to be scrapped. It's just giving guys an excuse to wriggle out of fights even though they're technically in the same weight class. 155-160 is MW, not just 160 exactly.

If neither guy wants to fight as an actual middleweight then don't hold the belt hostage. Go back to 154. And as i said, if you can't make 154 then boohoo, you're a middleweight, fight 'em.

I like Canelo but his chances against Golovkin do not look promising. His fight against Cotto should be fun because we all know what happens to Cotto when he starts to take punishment. Cotto also hits hard and it will be interesting to see who wilts first when he fights Canelo.

Ward wasn't fighting anybody at that time because he chose inactivity. All he could do was talk about fighting.
Chavez Jr was available, GGG signed the contract and Chavez Jr ran away.
Froch was available, GGG said let's go and Froch chose retirement
Ward chose inactivity. Why do you think he didn't fight anyone for 19 months?
You should be able to work all this out for yourself, so I assume you're just another troll on here.
Apologies if you are actually mentally ******ed.
Also, just for ****s n giggles:
What weight is Ward fighting at next, when he actually does fight again?
Troll??? whatever. Nice opinions. Now where are your facts?

                      So is 164.

BUT the difference is that GGG is the mando for THE WBC LINEAL RING MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP so GGG can enforce 160 + Canelo already fought above JMW and inside MW(154.1-160) 4 times and GGG never fought above MW or doesnt have a belt there that Ward is mando of. Canelo is already a MW so why the need for catchweight against another MW???
