Comments Thread For: Khan: If I'm Scared of Brook, Then Why Would I Fight Canelo?
British star Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs) rejected the idea that he was scared of a summer showdown with IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (35-0, 24KOs).
This putting down your biggest challenge goes all the way back to the first Leonard vs Hearns fight and it stinks of ducking.
Lol, ducking by moving up two weight classes to fight Canelo?? Khan might not fancy Brook, but I think its more to do with him loving the power he holds over them... Brook's CV is pathetic, he really does need to fight someone. I believe all the stuff Frank Warren said about Brook and his dad now, used to think it was Frank being his usual bitter self, but it all rings VERY true with how his career has gone since leaving Warren...
Like Khan's father said, the Brook fight will still be there after the Canelo and even a Garcia fight. You can't say the same if he lost to Brook, he'd be pretty much finished. They are taking a gamble to try and get the most £££ possible.
This dude smh..i hate the fact this fraud got a big fight with the path of least resistance, dodging all the WWs.
Why not Brooki nstead of Algieri? Why not anytime since Algieri up until now? Dude couldve fought him anytime withun the 12nonths of inactivity.
Positive side is Canelo will put that final nail in the coffin..sucks bcuz Khan will claim like hes one of the bcuz hes KTFO by the biggest name in boxing rt now....Khan hasnt fought a top guysince 2012 and itll be evident against Canelo when hes blasted outin the10seconds of the opening rd
Are you going to make new articles out of every single phrase Khan said a week ago? What kind of ****** clickbait is that?
Khan articles must generate a lot of hits. Otherwise it's hard to figure out why we always get articles for every little thing that comes out of his mouth.

There isn't any other big fight to hype for this spring, actually...
Khan was basically treading water against fringe world class Welterweights trying to get fights against Floyd or Pacquiao. He "feared" Brook in the sense that Brook was a big risk that could have erased the potential of those fights if he lost to Brook(which I think is likely). Now, as another poster indicated, he gets a pretty big money fight against Canelo with ready-made excuses since Canelo has all the advantages going in, so even if Khan gets stopped brutally by Canelo, the Brook fight will still be there for him if he wants to keep boxing. If he somehow manages to beat Canelo, then he probably gets enough clout to pick and choose his opponents going forward while also getting the vast majority of the fight purse.
