Comments Thread For: Cortez Thinks Canelo Will Fight Lemieux Next, Not Golovkin

Hall of fame retired referee and ESPN analyst Joe Cortez believes WBC middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (47-1-1, 33KOs) will face David Lemieux in the fall, and not IBO/WBA/IBF champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs).

Sad to say Lemieux would be the toughest and most dangerous opponent of Canelo's career. Doubt he can make anything less than 160.

Honestly that's a good fight for Canelo to see how he stacks up vs ggg.. Lemuiex shares a lot of the same traits as ggg and would be a good legit test run for a Golovkin fight..

The only downside is that Canelo may struggle and look bad, or worst case, get stopped by lemuiex.. The canadien can crack

Ya Canelo would beat David Lemiux, we all know he has a chin problem so he would walk through Lemiux and fight Golovkin May 6, 2017

Why does boxingscene keep on posting random quotes from Cortez on subject matters he has zero expertise in or knowledge of?

Yeah, i'm not going to read these articles in the future. They call him an analyst... "Give me my belt, now!" How much analysing does this require?
There will be no step aside fees, mark my words!
Maybe a fight in 2017, but why would Alvarez do that without a belt? (ie take a pay cut).

If K2/GGG take another step aside, they're dumb

Canelo telling fans that gets ready repeatedly and not doing it would be pathetic.

But if k2 allows him to keep the belt to only have a guy GGG whooped get a shot at MW lineal before him would be ******.

K2 can get the WBC title no matter what, and that's what they should do.
