... But, well, everybody is entitled to express his own opinion.
If Ward was going up against a crude, strong, aggressive fighter, then what Johnny is saying would be true.

Kovalev is strong and aggressive, but crude he ain't!

I think it's 50/50 fight. Sergey has a little bit one-dimensional side in him. I wasn't very impressed that he wasn't able to deal better with Jean Pascal in their rematch - when Jean was trying to survive after few rounds he kept leaning with his head low and it was enough for him to avoid big punches - Sergey just kept head-locking him. I think his lack of good left hook to head and body is big weakness. Smart defensive fighter will be able to avoid his 1-2.
Now Ward's problem is that what Sergey can do - he does on extremaly high level.. and he has that great countering right hand so any time Ward opens up he will put himself at risk.. and even if he avoids head shots - he will be constantly pushed off balance with jab to the chest and stomach that will take a lot of energy from him.
I think it will be very tactical with both fighters having problems hitting each other..
Kovalev's jab to the body will be the key that opens Ward up to Krusher's right cross and follow up combos.

The guy is saying that Ward will KO Kovalev late or win on points. I think the thought of Ward, who had difficulty getting KOs against 168s, KOing Sergey is quite laughable.

As far as Hopkins, I believe Kovalev knocked him twice in the first and many believe he didnt KO Hopkins out of respect. I dont think he "couldn't" KO 100 year old Hopkins, but that he just "didn't" KO Bernard.

He hurt Hopkins a lot in that fight and the referee should have stopped it but luckily for Hopkins whole never knocked out scenario he never but any other fighter it would have been stopped.

No one doubts Ward's class and his record says it all, but to knock out Kovalev ?? I wish they sold weed that strong down where I live. Ward has never faced someone with Kovalev's power and he's going to feel some of that on fight night. It's going to be a great fight. So many people said the K wouldn't be able to handle that "wily, old fox Hopkins" and that was a one sided demolishion job. I know Ward ain't 50 years old but..... here's hoping the Krusher keeps on Krushing. Biggest fight of the year for me.

B-Hop was a gentleman... Kovalev didn't even try to dispatch him. It was only a "passing the torch" fight.

People are overlooking Ward and forgetting how good he is, I got him winning this fight in clear fashion.

Hows that? Kovalev is far from what Ward has seen. Superior power, combos, size, ability to cut off the ring. Ward is in for s surprise, on the flip side Ward really hasnt seen a man like Kovalev. Hope it happens cause it should be fun to watch.
