I feel that Kovalev pairs that power with accuracy. If Ward approaches the fight the same way Hopkins did, I predict a similar result. But if there's anybody who can neutralize the Krusher, it's probably Ward. And I wouldn't go as far as to say the winner of it will become p4p #1 because if it's a close fight, then it will be a hard justification of a spot. I wouldn't mind giving the winner the #1 spot if it's in convincing fashion. Too close a 50/50 contest to say for sure.

They make mistakes but their very cautious as well. Manny Pac has an AWESOME Chin but the right counter punch put him out on cloud nine... Your correct Kovalev can make more mistakes for sure but going in blaze gunning, head hunting, isn't going to win the fight. If anything he'll look amateurish and sloppy.

But that's why they fight! What's your prediction??? I'm holding out until I know who's the ref and judges. More the Ref. then anything else... We could have a Bayless/Mayweather Combo vs. Maidana type of fight.

ahahahh, Lou Cipher pulled down his bull**** "boxer" pic after I called him out on it yesterday LMAO

Stick to your kind Lou, you fooled nobody.

It's 50/50...with a slight variation depending on where each respective book is located--books in europe will undoubtedly take more bets on Kovalev because he has a bigger fanbase there. Straight up 10/11 odds for either side. Further down the line I expect more money to come on Kovalev early, then Ward late as the underdog.

That I agree with. In close, Kovalev undoubtedly will try to land a big overhand right, which is a blind shot...Ward might not even see it coming. That overhand right is what hurt Hopkins...he landed on the crown of the head. Ward just can't bully him inside. He has to be smart to neutralize Kovalev, or it will be a long night.

I liked John David Jackson as a boxer, and like him as a trainer. And Kovalev is great at following his instructions, and has like 2-3 belts now. Sounds like a success story to me. If you disagree, no worries.

No disrespect to El Chocolatito but this is BIG boy fighting. Were neither guy can make a mistake or it's LIGHTS OUT!!! Those smaller guys can make TONS of mistakes with very lil consequences. They beat you with VOLUME punches. What's the average punches thrown at Flyweight??? 60? 70? 80???
Where did I even mention Chocolatito?

I see a lot of Hopkins mentions. Did no one see Hopkins get outclassed by Dawson? Hopkins was also not strong enough to sting or grapple with Kovalev. People thinking Ward represents similar opposition is just shallow insight. Andre is a very different opponent. Hopkins clinches to stop the action. Ward clinches to initiate a whole other form of inside game that no one has matched.

There's also a lot of misconceptions about Kovalev being rigid or a typical power puncher. He's not. He's not even a 1-punch ko kind of guy. He's someone who has great movement for a LHW, relatively fast hands, can throw at a variety of angles, and whose combinations are intelligent and effective. His connect and defense rates are nothing exceptional so the idea that he's going to be landing ko shots on Ward and talking nothing back is fundamentally foolish.

I think these are two of the most misunderstood fighters out there because their skills defy the stereotypes people try to place on them.

Ward fans are in for a huge wake up call in this fight. Ward is no Roy Jones, he's no Calzaghe, and he's no Kovalev.
