Yes, GGG has tried to make the other fights. regarding Jacobs, he is waiting to maximize his take. I should have posted this is the same position HBO is taking relative to GGG/Canelo.
In taking the Brook fight he is taking an easy fight for the payday to keep undefeated and in position for the big payday.
Is it fair to fault the other guys for trying to do same and position themselves for a possible Canelo fight prior to Sept. 2017?
Golovkin allowed Cotto & Canelo to have fights because he knew if he forced his mandatory, they'd vacate, which is exactly what Canelo did anyways. He wasn't trying to milk his mandatory status, he was trying to lure those guys into an actual fight with him. Golovkin would've took those fights ASAP, he has no control over those guys agreeing to fight him, he can take a step aside and see if they'll agree or just have them stripped out right. Very different from Danny's stance.
The Brook fight is a big payday in it's self. In fact it's his biggest payday yet. Instead of Brook, he could've fought Khurtsidze, Lee, or Korobov for a fraction of the money, received far less attention, not break into the UK market, and still get heavily criticized. It's yet to be seen whether Brook will be an easy win.

HBO is not going to risk GGG losing before the Canelo fight. Brook is the same as Khan was relative to Canelo. The difference being Khan had losses but had defeated quality opponents where Brook is undefeated and has only Porter that most of us would call quality.

Let's hope they focus next on Lara and Decubas, who claim they want GG.
We all know that when you want a fight you normally instruct your management team to do the fight for you. That's why you pay them for such services. Lara and Decubas can't even give Haymon a visit in his office to discuss the fight they want. Meaning, they just use GG's name to promote their Martirosyan and Zaveck type opponent.
So I hope Loeffler laser-focus on these clowns and let's see what happens.

Conversely the Brook/Golovkin fight sold all 20k tickets in 11 minutes and will be on ppv. Brook/Golovkin might be a money grab, but that's because Brook has the fan demand behind him. Danny won't ever have that kind of star power unless he takes a fight with Golovkin and wins.

Canelo made a bee-line for Khan. Nobody was turning down a Canelo fight, Canelo could've chose anybody he wanted. Canelo picked Khan as his first and only choice. Canelo didn't make an offer to Golovkin, Saunders, Jacobs, or Eubank.

Damn, Team Jacobs, ya'll sounding like you won't dare to be great! Seriously, you realize that if you beat GGG, you are THE MAN!! You can make those big paychecks that you obviously want! "We'll fight anybody!" his coach said over and over. SMDH.

1) Unifying with Lemieux
2) Signing a document to fight Canelo after his voluntary defenses. Yes, there was a document signed.
Let's not pretend that Canelo/Cotto wouldn't have vacated earlier if GGG didn't step aside...
GGG wanted to fight Canelo and Canelo vacated to avoid the fight, and somehow it's GGG's faultthese haters... empty brains.
