Although trainer John David Jackson is picking his fighter, IBF/WBA/WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev (30-0-1, 26KOs), to knock Andre Ward out - the veteran coach would not be surprised if the Olympic gold medal winner went the full distance.

Kovalev is the better fighter, but we need to take Ward's home country advantage into consideration. If the ref lets him use illegal tactics, he may survive the 12 rounds, and the judges will score the rounds for him whether he wins them or not. Kovalev will need a KO to win, and there's about a 50% chance he'll get it.

He would stop guys like Brand and Barrera, who survived the distance with Ward.
He never needs to resort to illegal tactics, he's good enough to fight withing the rules. Remember when Barrera was coming on, Ward nailed him in the balls?

Who cares what either trainer has to say. Let me know when Kovalev or Ward start talking, then I'll chime in. I don't want to hear about crybaby referee talk, who the judges will be, none of that. The fans always knows who wins fights like this.
