Unfortunately for Gvodzyk, Ward is of the mind that he has done it all already. Even though the current light heavyweight division is filled with better fighters than who he fought at 168. Guys like Froch, and Kessler would get destroyed against this current crop of light heavy's. Too bad a 43 year old Hopkins isn't around now. He would fight all these guys.

Froch, Kessler, etc weren't Light Heavyweights. Furthermore, the current crop of Light Heavyweights haven't accomplished anything yet to even be in the conversation with boxers like Kovalev, Ward, Froch, Kessler, etc. Too early to compare prospects to champions.

Gvozdyk is a damn Good fighter but to say he's the best is in a stacked division is way to early and unproven.

He has beaten guys that others have already beaten and are solid gatekeepers.

Put him in their with Barrera, Joe Smith, Marcus Browne, or Beterbiev and let's see what happens then.

Sorry Arum but the two best LHWs are Kovalev and Ward and it is not even close.

Stop the excuses, they weren't that good. Don't put Froch, and Kessler in the same sentence as Ward, and Kovalev, that is disrespectful. Froch and Kessler were a product of a weak division. They both lost wide decision to Ward. Froch, and Kessler beating other sorry opponents, at 168, doesn't make them good. Guys like Gvodzyk, Beterbiev, Barrera, Stevenson, Kovalev, Bivol, would all trash them. Being one weight division lower isn't an excuse. Stevenson moved up to light heavyweight, because Froch was ducking him. Stevenson has had success in the division. Ward moved up, after spanking Froch, and Kessler, and taking a break. He's had success at light heavyweight. Froch and Kessler, had they moved up. They wouldn't have of gotten ****, but beatdown.

They were Super Middleweights for a reason. They were world champions because they earned those titles. Most of the Light Heavyweights you've mentioned have not even earned the right to be mentioned with former world champions and HOFers. The resumes of Gvodzyk, Beterbiev, Barrera and Bivol aren't even worth discussing. They're all still prospects with possible contender upside. None of them have a significant professional victory to speak of.

The only person of note on Kessler's resume is Froch, and that was a debatable win. It isn't hard earning titles when you don't have to fight anyone to get them. Kessler got the vacant WBA title by fighting a nobody.
