After his beatdown, Canelo will not seek an immediate rematch. Like Rocky Balboa, he won't want one.

After the fight, the excuses will come out: "GGG is on the juice", "Canelo was injured", "Canelo is not in his prime yet", "Canelo is really a 154 pound fighter", etc. The rematch will probably never happen because Canelo's career/PPV marketability would never recover from 2 KOs, and his few remaining fans will defend him not seeking a rematch (after being stopped) while saying, "he's the A-side doeee!"
yeah there will be a lot of excuses. the 154 one will come out a lot i imagine 'golovkins picking on smaller fighters' or something like that.

Canelos absolute best chance is to go for it from the opening bell, otherwise he will be a mess from that jab not to mention the brutal left hooks to the body and head. His corner won't let it get too far out of hand I would think.

I've said in previous replies that Alverez has been a protected fighter carefully managed by Dela Hoya to maneuver this fight with GGG for big bucks. If there is any question that Canelo doesn't have the punch to deal with GGG just watch the Chavez the punching bag fight where Canelo all but exhausted himself hitting Chavez at will and that went 12 rounds. He'll look good for a round or two like so many have against Golovkin then he'll be shocked with the first solid punch he receives by Golovkin. He'll realize he's no longer fighting blown up welterweights anymore. I fully expect this fight to end early with either GGG knocking him out or Canelo's corner throwing in the towel then claiming he was sick and demanding another big money rematch. If GGG could handle Lemeuix who I believe would destroy Canelo then Canelo has little chance unless he runs for 12 rounds and relies on tainted judges to pull it out for him. I still gotta say Dela Hoya has turned Ring Magazine into a rag by listing Canelo as the best middleweight when all he's done was to beat an old Cotto at Jr middleweight (155lbs) then run and avoid every middleweight worth mentioning since, he shouldn't even be in the top 5.
Canelo exhausted himself and stood up in the corner for all twelve rounds.

Outboxed by Jacobs? Jacobs got out-punched, out-landed, put on his a s s and lost 7 rounds unanimously on all three of the judges scorecards. If Jacob's moral victory is how you form a boxing opinion then I'll go haze myself for shamelessly responding to you.

where is all this confidence in canelo beating GGG coming from? honestly? last year, when he dumped the WBC belt, no one gave him a snowball chance in hell vs Golovkin.... are you guys trying to convince yourselves of something?

I hear what you're saying, I do. But Danny Jacobs never got busted up. He looked like he fought "just another guy" in March so I don't know what to make of that.

There's no reason to assume Canelo, whose always shown a granite chin, is going to be in deep waters against Golovkin who looked more than human in his last fight (I actually had Jacobs winning a close fight). And people can say, "Oh well Danny is a huge MW...but he's been KD by Sergio Mora (the Malignaggi of MW) and KTFO before. So I can't say Danny is this tough SOB. Good fighter for sure, but I think the verdict is still out on Danny.

Huh? Can't tell if this is serious or just rubbish?

Being a SMW means he was 168 pounds. Danny was ~175 which is what his trainer and Danny himself have said...and they have no reason to lie about that since the fight is already over.

Anyhow, GGG himself was in the low 170's...so what do you mean "huge compared to him"?

This is that dogshit that fans hate and annoys people. Triple L fanatics just make stuff up anytime their beloved hero gets revealed as being less than holy. FFS damn bloke

that's a naive way to even question... there's wishful thinking and then there's observance. one example is, how many rounds did Murray go with Golovkin? Think of why that happened, and then ask, is Murray or Stevens comparable to Alvarez. Or just focusing on weight difference and no context as skill easier to think?

There are 3-4 major factors in this fight.

How will Canelo take Triple L's power?

How will Triple L respond to Ca$hnelo's counters? Will it discourage Triple L or will he just walk through it?

Can Canelo cope with a good jabber who is both taller and with a longer reach?

Does Canelo have the stamina to do what he has to do while dealing with return fire (non-issue against JCC obviously)
