I agree that Benavidez is probably the best among all fighters in the weight class regardless of sanctioning body. I believe though than in last nights fight broadcast the announcers stated that Benavidez had a guaranteed challenge vs the winner of Smith/ Dirrell upcoming title fight and that may be incorrect since Avni Yildirim has been the #3 ranked WBC guy so I think he would have a crack at the title first.
