Comments Thread For: Mayweather-McGregor: NSAC to Vote on Requests for 8-Ounce Gloves

Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor might fight in eight-ounce gloves after all. Nevada State Athletic Commission executive director Bob Bennett told Sky Sports for a story posted to its website Wednesday that the NSAC will vote on the request for Mayweather and McGregor to fight with eight-ounce gloves at its next meeting, set for August 16 in Las Vegas. The 12-round boxing match between the boxing legend and the UFC superstar, scheduled for August 26 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, will be contested at the junior middleweight limit of 154 pounds, which usually requires boxers to wear 10-ounce gloves.

From memory Manny vs Margarito for the 154 title used 8oz gloves.

Who cares, this fight is just going to be fixed anyway like Mayweather-Ortiz was. They even got Joe Cortez involved again who was the referee doing the WWE-"stare away" move while Ortiz let Floyd hit him not once, but twice with his hands down, not even moving his head or arms one inch after the first shot hit, then stayed down on the canvas for 10 seconds with his eyes open. This right after a well trained ref Cortez says "let's go!" instead of "time in" in order to leave ambiguity for the staged ending.

Boxing is too corrupt now. No wonder fans are wising up and not watching this ****** corrupt **** anymore.

Up and into the 1970's 6 and 8 ounce gloves were pretty standard fare.

Basically. Not saying they were bribed, but it's Vegas and money lends itself to influencing people and guiding their decisions.

Hell, Clark County let Floyd hold off on serving prison time until that money from his fight had rolled in.
