Smart move.. If he signs too many fighters he's gonna have the issue Al Haymon has, he won't have enough dates to have them all fight.
... Haymon took the money and now he's spinning it off... He and Hearn are good together...

I'm not familiar with the US but HBO isn't the only game in Town.
      Showtime is one example
They had competition with Darts and Snooker, this isn't as hostile a move as what they done with those sports, as you said theres a lot more players. But if they are a success with Jacobs others will take notice.

Remains to be seen though, I'm not convinced the UK thing would translate to the US, and do they have a backup plan if it doesn't work

Not anymore. UFC is in near collapse outside of McGregor cards. Boxing has overtaken it completely with ESPN, Fox, Showtime, HBO, and CBS all in the game now..

Has HBO every had 1 promoter doing all their shows like Hearn is saying his goal is with them? Thats a bold ass goal right there.

Hearn & Haymon must got something going on cuz he's gonna need a roster to do that & Haymon is the only guy who's got a unaffiliated roster & the Jacobs pickup seems like a solid clue.

Showtime gonna get left out in the dust now if Hearn ends up picking up more Haymon guys for HBO shows???

It's unlikely to ever happen and if it does it won't be for years. HBO learned their lesson with Top Rank..

I wonder what this does for the Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder fight down the road, though?

Hearn wanting to be exclusive content provider for HBO likely means that AJ won't sign a long term deal with Showtime now.
Yeah Bob Arum is looking like an idiot right about now. This could shake up everything. He got a Haymon advised fighter a long term HBO deal, not just a one off.

Lol he can fight those guys on Sky. No advantage to AJ at all. He wants the Wilder fight

I think Haymon would be wise to let HBO and Showtime compete. Some of his guys would go to one network and some would go to the other.

That was probably his plan all along but HBO c*ck blocked that idea when they blackballed his fighters from their broadcasts.

Miller would be a solid 1st fight in the US for Joshua, he'd have to fight once in the US before Wilder imo.

Honestly don't care much about HBO. If it's part of a bigger vision like getting PBC/Matchroom on TNT/TBS then that's a big deal..
